And it is notable, of course, that an 18-year-old is considered an adult in almost every context -- including in the voting booth -- except when ordering a beer.

Should one of the arguments for lowering the drinking age (which I wholeheartedly support... and more important I support allowing the states to make their own decisions on this subject; not blackmailed by the federal leviathan)... should one argument for that be that doing so reduces underage weed consumption?

While this is a serious discussion, I think the arguments for lowering the drinking age are largely without merit Was President McCardell’s argument for lowering the drinking age actually structured around traffic deaths, or was he advocating a more holistic stance, incorporating student health, addiction, violence, etc? If so, it is a bit misleading to refute his argument with evidence from the National Highway Transportation Administration.
